UUM ONLINE: The visits made by two separate delegations on the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah are expected to strengthen bilateral relations between the two parties with UUM and subsequently establish more dynamic cooperations.
Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah received a courtesy visit from E-Idaman Sdn. Bhd. led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Zaki Abd Aziz Daud together with its Head of Operations Division, Mr Munir Amani Dasheer and Head of Organization Development Section, Mr Mohd Firdaus Mohd Isa.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the sealing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UUM and E-Idaman. The signing of the MoU would help UUM achieve the Living Campus agenda successfully, especially in improving the management of solid waste systems in UUM.
The strength and expertise possessed by E-Idaman in the field of solid waste management will help UUM through its Centre for Testing, Measurement and Appraisal CeTMA) to successfully carry out the Living Campus agenda.
Earlier, Prof. Dr Haim Hilman received a delegation from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka Branch led by its Rector, Prof. Dr Abd Halim Mohd Noor together with its Assistant Rector of Melaka Branch Jasin Campus, Dr Siti Normah Awang Tuah; Director of the Centre for Islamic Philanthropy and Social Finance (CIPSF), Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohamed Saladin Abdul Rasool and CIPSF members as well as representatives of the Kedah State Zakat Board (LZNK).
The meeting which took place in the Senate Room discussed the direction of zakat research and Islamic philanthropy.
Also discussed were the functions of the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Zakat Research and Innovation Institute (IPIZ) and LZNK.
The two bodies are committed to contributing to the development of education as well as the development of the asnaf. Various researches have been conducted to initiate efforts and means to take care of the welfare of the ummah, thus proving that UUM cares deeply about the fate of the local community.
