UUM ONLINE: The 4th International Social Development Conference-Virtual (ISDC-V 2021) is projected to be the ideal forum for changing society's new standards at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani in his speech said that the challenges of world life that are constantly changing affect human emotions.
With the seemingly insurmountable obstacles of the Covid-19 pandemic, he felt that ISDC 2021 would be the best forum to tackle the issue.
The ISDC-V 2021, organised by the School of Applied Psychology, Policy, and Social Work (SAPSP) in collaboration with the Johor State Secretary's Office (SUKJ) and the Social Institute of Malaysia (ISM), has been held biennially since 2014, with 331 participants, including 56 presenters from local and international universities.
The conference, appropriately themed ‘Promoting Human Well-being Towards Equality and Sustainability in Society,' featured keynote speakers Prof. Emeritus Dato' Dr. Amir Awang from the Malaysian Board of Counsellor (LKM) and Prof. Dr. Tan Ngoh Tiong from Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
The ISDC-V 2021 was held over two days, on August 11 and 12, and featured speakers from both within and outside the country, including Prof. Dr. Christopher Trotter of Monash University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melati Sumari from the University of Malaya (UM); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rahim Kamaluddin and Dr. Ku Suhaila Ku Johari from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), while UUM featured Prof. Dr. Noor Azniza Ishak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Rozaini Kamsani, Dr. Azlin Hilma Hillaluddin, Dr. Norruzeyati Che Mohd Nasir, Ms. Sharima Ruwaida Abbas and Mdm. Sabasiah Husin.
The conference was officiated by the former Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato' Seri Rina Mohd Harun who expressed hope that UUM could help the country manage the pandemic situation that impacted the community.
She also urged UUM to make efforts to foster community cohesion and sustainability through theoretical and practical networks formed as a result of the conference.

4TH ISDC 2021 PEMANGKIN KELESTARIAN MASYARAKAT
UUM ONLINE: Penganjuran 4th International Social Development Conference - Virtual (ISDC-V 2021) diharapkan menjadi platform terbaik untuk mengubah norma baharu masyarakat dalam era pandemik Covid-19.
Naib Canselor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani dalam ucapannya berkata, cabaran kehidupan dunia yang sentiasa mengalami perubahan memberi kesan kepada emosi manusia.
Ditambah pula dengan cabaran pandemik Covid-19 yang seperti tiada penghujungnya, justeru beliau berharap ISDC 2021 menjadi platform terbaik untuk membincangkan perkara tersebut.
ISDC-V 2021 anjuran Pusat Pengajian Psikologi Gunaan, Dasar dan Kerja Sosial (SAPSP) dengan kerjasama Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Johor (SUKJ) dan Institut Sosial Malaysia (ISM) dianjurkan secara dwitahunan sejak 2014 itu disertai 331 peserta termasuk 56 pembentang dari universiti tempatan dan antarabangsa.
Mengangkat tema ‘Promoting Human Well-being Towards Equality and Sustainability in Society’, persidangan tersebut membariskan Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Amir Awang dari Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM) dan Prof. Dr. Tan Ngoh Tiong dari Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) sebagai pengucaptama.
ISDC-V 2021 selama dua hari pada 11 dan 12 Ogos itu mengetengahkan pelbagai topik menarik oleh penceramah-penceramah dari dalam dan luar negara, antaranya Prof. Dr. Christopher Trotter dari Monash University; Prof. Madya Dr. Melati Sumari dari Universiti Malaya (UM); Prof. Madya Dr. Mohammad Rahim Kamaluddin dan Dr. Ku Suhaila Ku Johari dari Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), manakala UUM menampilkan Prof. Dr. Noor Azniza Ishak, Prof. Madya Dr. Siti Rozaini Kamsani, Dr. Azlin Hilma Hillaluddin, Dr. Norruzeyati Che Mohd Nasir, Sharima Ruwaida Abbas dan Sabasiah Husin.
Persidangan telah dirasmikan mantan Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Dato' Seri Rina Mohd Harun yang mana beliau berharap UUM dapat membantu negara mengurus situasi pandemik yang memberi impak kepada komuniti dan mewujudkan usaha serta kebersamaan dan kelestarian masyarakat melalui jalinan teori dan praktikal yang dihasilkan melalui konferen tersebut.
