UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) have agreed to explore strategic cooperation prospects to strengthen the country's entrepreneurship agenda.
During the courtesy call, the UUM delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor met with the Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, Tan Sri Noh Omar, to discuss the offer of establishing a Centre of Excellence to assist MEDAC in its strategic agendas.
According to Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman, the collaboration is an endeavour to expand the role of institutions of higher education in developing a highly competitive community of entrepreneurs and ministry staff.
During the session, he also emphasised UUM's commitment to provide customised programmes for the top management at MEDAC, specifically its Chief Executive Officer, senior management, and executives for agencies under the ministry's purview.
Furthermore, UUM plans to establish a strategy with MEDAC in the Student 5.0 entrepreneurship programme with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and INASIS sponsorship in the form of endowments for the use of student entrepreneurship development programmes.
Additionally, the discussion also centred on the existence of the Research Centre of Excellence (CoE) as MEDAC's 'back office' for the purpose of developing the Malaysian Entrepreneur Profile Dashboard.
Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman stated that UUM has always been committed to collaborating successfully with industry, government agencies, and the community in order to achieve inclusive and high-impact goals for common benefits and interests of the community and the country.

UUM BINA KERJASAMA STRATEGIK DENGAN MEDAC
UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) dan Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi (MEDAC) bersetuju untuk meneroka peluang kerjasama strategik bagi memperkasa agenda keusahawanan negara.
Dalam kunjungan hormat delegasi UUM diketuai Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi) yang menjalankan fungsi Naib Canselor, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah kepada Menteri Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi, Tan Sri Noh Omar itu memfokuskan kepada perbincangan dalam penawaran penubuhan pusat kecemerlangan yang berperanan membantu MEDAC dalam agenda-agenda strategik.
Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman berkata, kerjasama tersebut adalah merupakan satu usaha untuk meningkatkan peranan institusi pengajian tinggi dalam melahirkan masyarakat usahawan dan warga kementerian berdaya saing tinggi.
Pada sesi tersebut, beliau turut menyatakan kesudian UUM menawarkan program khusus untuk pengurusan tertinggi MEDAC seperti Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, pengurusan kanan dan eksekutif bagi agensi di bawah kementerian tersebut.
Selain itu, UUM juga berhasrat membangunkan strategi bersama MEDAC dalam program keusahawanan Siswa 5.0 bersama Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) dan penajaan semula Inapan Siswa (INASIS) dalam bentuk endowmen untuk kegunaan program pembangunan usahawan siswa.
Di samping itu, perbincangan turut memfokuskan kepada kewujudan Pusat Kecemerlangan (CoE) penyelidikan sebagai ‘back office’ MEDAC dalam menyediakan Dashboard Profile Usahawan Malaysia.
Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman berkata, UUM sentiasa komited untuk menjayakan kerjasama dengan industri, agensi kerajaan dan komuniti bagi mencapai matlamat yang inklusif dan berimpak tinggi demi manfaat bersama dan kepentingan masyarakat serta negara.
